New Owner…….Realistic expectations

I have just bought a low mileage generation1 997 Turbo after months deliberating whether to choose the 996 pay the extra for a 997.


Any advice for a first time Porsche owner?

just enjoy it, I hope it's a manual :-)

and if you feel it's not fast enough that engine can take mega tuning, great value cars for the performance now.

997T are great machines. And while I'll (probably) get flamed for saying this, paying the extra for the 997 interior is money well spent !

Its a London car and going to be used as a daily driver on a commute from suburban London,down the motorway out of town for 15 miles then 10 miles country lanes.So i bought the tiptronic for the horrible evening traffic coming back into town up the M4.

It hurt me not to buy a manual but i had to make the logical decision.

This was helped by my Uncle who drives a tip 996 and told me the car stays on boost between changes in the tip.

At least i got the Metzeger engine
