This site is where I first discovered the Ring over ten years ago. I know he sold up/moved on and have followed the site since but it now seems dead. What's happened to Ben, and the site ?

I looked into buying the site (2009?) but the asking price was ridiculous and the site could easily be replicated. Nick Ashby bought it and still runs it. It's still a great site for newbies and I must have read almost everything on it before my first trip (2005?) and I was an avid reader of his trip reports. I even briefly feature in his last published report - http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/trip_reports/trip53/

Last I heard, Ben was doing a bit of travelling, photography and reviewing gadgets. I looked at some of his Chernobyl photos - but that was years ago and I haven't heard anything since.

ah yes, soon after getting my driving licence I was looking in to the 'ring and spent some serious time researching, your site has great information for beginners - good job

I believe that's true in terms of attracting the long time ringers due to the closure of the forum where they all used to hang out.
The information for the newbies seem to be just as good or better.
