Sports shifter is NOT standard on S

I was under the impression SSK was only available as an option.

Not aware of it being standard on any of the Carrera / Carrera S models.

Many thanks guys. Having now purchased 2 of the B&M/ebay type shift mechanism's, both failing in short order due to poor design of the longitudinal axis bushes, I've decided it may be time to try the OEM Porsche SSK.

Have the OEM Porsche SSK on my Cayman - can't recommend it highly enough. From memory it's fitted for about £450, and the part only a couple of hundred if you feel able/happy to fit it yourself.

Either way, it's well worth it IMHO.

SSK is indeed well worth it.
Should have been like that as standard.
£450 is about right - that's roughly what I paid.
If you get the dealer to fit it then it saves any hassle if anything comes loose etc after.
The shift is really nice and notchy post SSK. You will get your old shifter in the box back in the boot... just a big lump of plastic.

Many thanks for the response guys. I would personally fit this yourself, it only takes around 1hr and is relatively simply. I just bought one from Porsch-Apart for around £200 and the 2x gear cable connector links for £10 a piece. New they retails for around £320 and as suggested about £450 fitted.
