Cheap Slant Nose 'Bitsa' near to me in the US - Thoughts?

I'm not really looking for a toy but I came across this when looking at the F348 they have in stock:

Seems very cheap to me! Only a little over £12k, without any negotiation at current exchange rates!

And that dealer has a pretty good reputation (as far as I have found) as well...I quite fancied the F348 they have for sale and then bringing that home but this Pork just seems like such good value, all being well with it!
However, I should probably just keep saving for the F360CS I want! They are massively cheaper over here than at home (UK), though they are LHD and not much cheaper than those on the continent.

Just check all the usual things such as was it always a wide bodied car? If not loads of things to check like are the wings/panels steel, is it on Turbo suspension arms or daft spacers? Etc, etc.
And of course the usual, rust, rust, rust although being in the US chances are it's ok.

Google maps says the dealer is only 11mins from my office... I can see a trip coming this weekend though I need to rebuild the transfer case actuator in my ?BMW X5 at the weekend... stupid thing! All jokes aside - This isn't my style at all, I just think it represents amazing value for the condition it appears to be in! Thus, I am guessing that's a GRP bodykit and spacers are involved but, even then, if it drives nicely and is rust free, still doesn't seem like bad value at all!

Definitely worth a look at that price and since it's so close to where you are. I only had a quick look before on my phone, but have had a better read now I'm at my desktop, still looks good for the money. It looks amazingly clean! Must have been loved by someone.
I didn't spot the age of it before and now see it's a 1977 and it's listed as a 2.7. That means it just preceded the first SCs which were a 3.0 and released in 1977.
The 2.7 engine wasn't Porsches finest hour. In fact it was probably their worst until the M96 came along.
It had a habit of snapping head studs so if it hasn't yet had a rebuild have a good poke about/drive etc especially once it's up to temperature, as sometimes head studs don't make a sound until the engine warms up a bit.
The gearbox will be the 915 5 speed. If it's a good one it'll be bearable, although probably cannot be described as sporty, but if it's a bad one, it'll be like stirring a bowl of porridge.
The car will definitely have started life as a narrow-bodied car as the first wide-bodied non-Turbo car was the 3.2 Supersport in '87 ish, so as I said earlier check if the wings and rear quarters are steel or fibreglass. Fibreglass isn't a deal breaker if it has been fitted well and the arch profiles look ok. In fact it may be a benefit weight-saving wise with that engine, as the UK 2.7 was only 150bhp and the US one will be lucky if it's that.
Steel panels would be a massive bonus though. JUst shows it's been done properly.
Looking at the wheel picture the calliper seems to sit closely (correctly) up to the rear of the wheel so the car may actually have had the proper suspension arms fitted from a 930 to make the wheels fill the wide arches properly. That's a good sign if someone has done that. If it's on spacers it shows they were only bothered about posing not driving as the spacers would need to be about 40mm on there and they kill the drive of a car.
Anyway, good luck, it does look really, really tidy and cared for. Dare I say you could definitely get away with it more over in sunny USA. Hard to explain what I mean but some things are ok in the US but not cool over here. Things such as chrome wheels and Harley Davisons.

Yeah, I may be able to get away with it over here but it's not the 'look' I go for, in the UK
I'd just flip it, if it was worth it, I think!
Honestly, we'll see... I am meant to be saving for a F360CS but am bored with my X5, which I'll be working on (again) this weekend!
