We just moved last October so I finally have a double garage but we have a good couple of years work on the house before I dare start sorting the garage.

If I were you I'd try and get the garage further up the garden maybe sideways on behind the bushes. That way you would drive up your drive, turn right and be on an area of driveway in front of the garage. You could then leave the bushes that are near the road which look nicer than a garage and also it means any scrotes passing your house won't see your cars.

Whatever you do has to be tasteful and fit in with the profile of the house.

We did a grand designs style extension that included a nice double garage, although the space meant 2.5 length rather than width. It is nice to have a great heated space to be in.

There are so many cool finishes that you can easily spend as much as on a house with flooring etc. in the end I stopped at built to same spec as the house , so good insulation, double glazing, heating. I only plastered the ceiling and painted the block work and floor. Would have been nice to maybe have under floor heating, fully plastered and tile flooring. But it is still a nice place to be.

It could easily be converted to part of the house so adds value. ;-)
