Former Boxster Owners - What car did you get next?

Just interested if people stayed with Porsche - or moved to another manufacturer. Also interested to see if people went more expensive - or looked for similar fun in a cheaper package. Does anybody regret what they moved to - or have all "upgrades" been successful?

There are very few cars that are more fun than the Boxster. For me it is the CGT, in between that it has to be a GT3 (RS - for the specialness). That shows just how much fun the Boxster really is

I haven't voted as I've not made the change, but I came very close over Christmas to changing the Spyder for an 'other'.
After sleeping on it for many days I realised I'd regret the move away from Porsche.

However, I made the move from 911 to Exige a few years ago and never regretted it.

Had a bad experience with Hatfield OPC, and lost confidence in my 987.1 S' reliability and so got shot of it in a bit of a rush, and bought a Scirocco, and regretted the move - 11 months later I shifted the 'Roc on and bought a Cayman S.

The VW was a good car - quick enough to be fun, practical with rear seats, but it didn't have the same 'soul' as the Porsche, and I missed that hugely.

I've only owned my Boxster S (986) for 5 days, but I am already hooked. I don't know what else I would realistically rather be driving. I can really only imagine replacing it with another Boxster

I followed mine with a TVR Chimaera 450, which was followed by a 993 C4 coupe which has now been joined by a 996 Turbo.

Bought my Boxster in spring 1997.

Swapped 18-months later for my current 993.

Job jobbed.

Another Boxster would be an obvious thought. The Cayman is a less logical choice

In my early - mid 20s I ran TVRs and then had 2/3 Lotus in my late 20's but always needed an everyday car to run alongside due to the impracticality aspect. I swapped the Lotus and an x-type for a Boxster S for a few years. Great all round car (probably the best all round car I have owned).

As brilliant as it was, however, it was almost too perfect and never really made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. Once I no longer needed the practicality of an A>B car and reverted solely to a car as a toy I moved back to a supercharged Exige. I still think as a one car fits all solution the Porsche is a brilliant shout with little compromise.

Chopped in my 986S for a 987.1S.

Which I then chopped in for a Boxster Spyder.

To me, the Boxster is absolutely the best sports car you can buy for less than six figures.

Boxster S (18 months) to 996 Carrera 2 (4 Years) to 996 Turbo (Years and counting).

Porsche make excellent cars. Whether you buy another is partially down to how good your relationship is with your OPC. I would go to another Boxster or a 911 from a Boxster.

No, I totalled it

But I chose to replace it with an MX5 as the Boxster, although highly competent, wasn't really doing it for me.

Cayenne Turbo. Though now looking to PX that for a 996. Itch scratched and all that.

Two more Boxsters followed by a 997 C2S, a 997 GT3 and then back to .........another Boxster.
