Just picked up my new turbo
Discussion
It's dark out, I am waiting about the showroom for an hour before I get in it. I have a major p
s off work email distracting me.
Anyway.
Half way home I think its a bit cold and look for the heated seat button. Can't see it, but coming from an R8 the buttons are all new to me. Get home at 10 past six check, recheck, check order, recheck again.
No bloody heated seats! What a joyful conversation I am going to have tomorrow.
130k to not get my spec.
So folks, what do you think Mr Porsche will do?

This having happened twice in as many months to users of this forum, it does seem like Porsche (or one or more of their dealers) have a problem fulfilling orders (how hard can it be to tick a box on a build sheet?). If it could be rectified by retro-fitting in the OPC it wouldn't be so bad, but it can't apparently.
What's more annoying is that each time it's either not been noticed at PDI stage, or has been noticed and they've decided to try and get away with it.
If they'd noticed, then told the customer at handover (i.e wait until he/she's likely to be excited and not want to have to leave his/her shiny new car behind) and pro-actively offered some kind of acceptable compensation (on top of a refund for the non existent item) they'd have a much better chance of resolving the issue there and then to the customer's satisfaction, and less cost and hassle to themselves.
As it is, it seems they'd rather risk a customer driving off, then rejecting the already-registered car with some miles on it, and having to lend them another car whilst a replacement with the right specification is ordered correctly.

Got mine in November, reversing camera missing.
In fairness the OPC did all they can, I managed to get a free set of new winter wheels and tyres as compensation.
Having said that not have the camera is no real biggy, I would miss heated seats more!
Hope you get the conclusion you want.

If I had put the sum of money required to obtain a shiny new turbo the dealers way, & found A- it wasn't to spec & B- worse still, they either hadn't noticed OR had tried to dupe me. . .the conversation would not be printable here.
Very very shabby on the part of the dealer for a sale of this value. The same thing on a VW Polo would be bad enough, but, is it not unreasonable to expect that 130 big ones should give you the right to expect fairly exemplary service ? with Porsche UK. . .seems not.

I would honestly take the car back, tell them to order the one I purchased and ask them to provide me with a car in the meantime.
I knows it's not that much of a biggie but it would gall me to the point of wanting to stick it to them and hit them in the pocket!
Illustrates incompetence on the dealers part and possibly the factory. I`ve never ordered a new car so not sure how the process goes. Does the dealer send the spec off or is it all completed on screeen by the customer and sent directly to the factory via Porsche GB?
Anyway regardless whos to blame for the cock up If I sold something for £130k I`d at least make sure upon delivery that it was double checked before presenting it to the customer. How f
ken uselss can they be.

That's really annoying. Heated seats are a no cost option, I think, so you have to tick the box but they don't change the price. If I had to gamble, I'd say it was a dealer cock up. If it was on the order that went to the factory, it would be on the car. What will you do if they offer you a retrofit? I suspect the wiring might be there in a turbo and it might just be a question of fitting the dash switches and heating elements to the seats. Not sure.
Either way, I would stick out for what you want for that kind of money! Good luck.

I'm sorry to read this. Since heated seats were a no cost option, their absence may affect the resale-ability of the car so, if you're being compensated, it needs to take that into consideration.
Personally, considering your back condition, I would reject the car. Let them sell it to someone else and have them supply you with a car with heated seats till a car to your spec is built and delivered. Alternatively, have them source another Turbo or Turbo S which has a spec you're happy with - there's enough of them around so hopefully it won't be a problem.
Good luck!
