996 litronic lights problem

Sounds like the headlight unit is not properly locked in.Changed a bulb recently?
Pop the unit out and before locking in back in apply some silcon spray to the rubber connector at the back.
Try replacing the ignition switch. My horn stopped working and after speaking to the garage I replaced it with instant success. The lights and wipers are all part of the same circuitry apparently so any of these can go if the switch is playing up.
Do a search and there is lots of info on the web but in sum you need to take out the driver side air vent and routing under the dash and then get in there with a mirror and a v small flat screwdriver (there are two paint covered screws). It is worth getting the OEM part, the ones on Design 911 are a bit crap.

Sounds right to me- the same happened to me, caused by driving along a rough cobbled road. First thing I would do would be to check this. 2 minute job max.I have had a different problem more recently, where both headlights would not switch on. This also appears to be a known problem- cleaning the light swithc and applying contact spray solved this problem.

The switch is another common problem, you were luckly with the spray. I have had a different problem more recently, where both headlights would not switch on. This also appears to be a known problem- cleaning the light swithc and applying contact spray solved this problem.
