993 Cabriolet Seals

Anyone know anything about replacing the rubber seals above the side windows? One of them is worn/twisted and lets a lot of wind through at anything over 30. Can they be replaced individually or would this mean a complete set?

Anyone who's had similar experiences I'd be interested to hear (and is it an easy job to do yourself or is it a dealer job?)

Aren't seals normally made of blubber not rubber :-)

Thanks for that! You've now had me staring at the screen for a full 5 minutes trying to work out if there really is another spelling, and I'm still not really sure...

Don't suppose anyone out there has an answer to this or the original poser...

Recently had the hood replaced on my 964 C4 - if the seals are the same as think you mean (the ones above the glass) then they are mucho spondoolicks if you want original equipment! After they restarted my heart I was told there are patent parts available for I think £60 a side. The car came back and the seals look fine and do the job - I drove it home in a monsoon! I don't have the details to hand but I'll dig them out for Monday.

Sounds great. Even if the parts are slightly different for the 993 then I'm sure whoever supplied for you will be able to supply for any model.

The hood/rubbers et al were fitted by Classic Trimming Company (tel. [phone]). I think the rubbers were supplied by JZ Machtech, although if you speak to Tom at 911 Virgin (tel. [phone]) he sorted things out and will be able and happy to help.
