Warranty Wise Warranty on 2004 997

Hi, I'm looking to buy a 997 which the owner has a Warranty wise warranty on, paying Approx £90 per month. He says its transferable and is very comprehensive .

Any experience of this warranty?

Yes, terrible to deal with, refused to pay out when I had a sudden mechanical failure causing a 15 grand rebuild, they argued wear and tear despite my compliance with all their policy specifics (so I believed).
I tried to sue them but my lawyers said their fine print was so comprehensive it would have been really difficult.

They are lying thieving s IMHO

Why pay £1,080 for dubious cover when the comprehensive Porsche warranty is available for not much more...

Sorry forgot to say It's a late 2004 car and from what I can see the car has to be less than 9yrs old to be able to purchase one.

Interesting to see that they rejected a claim that was caused by wear and tear as I'm sure 'Quentin Wilson' says that it would cover wear and tear failures.

He has just had the RMS done under warranty and Porsche have confirmed that the upgraded IMS is fitted...

What was the cause of your complete failure?

Porsche don't have an 'upgraded' IMS do they? They don't accept there is a problem do they?

No, but it could have the later (post-2006?) type in it (assuming this can be determined when looking when changing the RMS) - which on a 2004 car would suggest the engine's been replaced previously.

Ok, I get what you mean. Porsche would not put the later IMS in an earlier engine?

But if its had a later engine fitted....

Hi, should I be worried or concerned about the possibility of a new engine? The first 2 services where carried out at a OPC, then one at 'motor sport internation' and the last 3 at AMB porsche specialist which is near where the guys lives. Would any of them tell me if a new engine was fitted?

Its a VERY good thing if the engine has been fitted with the various fixes and upgrades a la Hartech etc.

If its just a replacement standard engine then its neither good or bad.

Mine was a failed scavenge oil pump in bulletproof engine

I was unlucky but the company were horrific to deal with and it's a painful memory!
