As per title.
What is it?
How long have you had it?
And why?
What would persuade you to sell it?

I'll start.
993 C2 coupe.
16yrs.
Because it still gives me great pleasure everytime I drive it.
Why would I sell?
If my faculties deteriorate to the point where I wasnt enjoying each drive.
wink

2005 BMW E46 318i Coupe

Ex company car, had it from new.
Its got 60k on it and its worth around £2.5k, its pointless to sell it.

I will keep it till it dies.

Not just a long term keeper, but a daily driver as well. I dont imagine there are too many similar cars doing the school run every morning.

I might be tempted by a 996 GT3, but its as ugly as a Bulldog chewing a wasp compared to my currant pork.

Toyota Verso 1.8 asthmatic load lugger, dog carrier and park anywhere car. Bought new in 2005, still going strong and will be run until it collapses on its springs, in the meantime a succession of audi and porsche cars have been and gone....

Another for a 993C2, coming up for 10 years ownership. There are other Porsches that would lead me astray, but which would be even more likely than the 993 to lose me my licence/kill me/end up with me killing someone else so I will be sticking with it for a while yet.

Volkswagen Golf GTI mk1 1800cc 1983.

Owned nineteen years.

Why is it a keeper?

Very well built, it weighs nothing, has perfect handling, telepathic steering and skinny tyres - this means maximum interaction with the road surface and the ability to explore the levels of 'grip' at relatively low speeds.

You can also put a family in it and go on holiday.

A car that (in standard form) actually lives up to the hype and accolades (then and now) and exceeds your expectations, every drive.

Definitely the most significant car in my lifetime. Redefined motoring for the masses.

1986 911 3.2 cabriolet

Owned for 18 years and still going stronger than ever with nearly 200K on the clock.

I have used it for everyday, and for track days, never misses a beat and delivers a direct connection to the road surface at all times. It gets everything it needs and wants to look and drive fantastic.

I cannot be persuaded to sell it, in fact may be buried in it!

997 GT2

Owned for 2 years now and it's never leaving. I used to change cars very frequently and went through loads over a 4 year period, the GT2 has put a stop to that as there's nothing else that's even close to it for the money.

Posting on behalf of my dad here, but his long term keeper would be his rare (approx 11 in the UK), 1998 registered, factory X50 (450bhp) 993 Turbo. Around 32k (iirc) miles and multiple award and concours winning.

I can't remember how long he's had it, but it's around 8 years at least.

I don't think he'll ever sell it.
