98 Ron?

Do all you Porsche owners only use 98 Ron (V Power) or will you use 97 Ron super unleaded too (BP etc) ?

Used Momentum all the time until Shell did the Lego cars. Been running them on V Power Nitro etc ever since. Seems to improve MPG a bit over the Tesco fuel. It's meant to be 99 RON now.

V Power Nitro for me. Enjoyed the lego cars - especially my sons' faces when told them I'd bought a Fancy-Fiat.
As well as the performance and efficiency, I think Shell's loyalty points system is good - you get vouchers to use on fuel, not lawnmowers or other crap you'll never use.

Why would you? It works just fine.

I never go faster than 50 mph anyway, and certainly no more than 3500 rpm, so power isn't an issue.

To be fair, I probably do most of my driving in London, but my car still sees a lot more than 50mph and a 3500rpm at least once a week. Otherwise, what's the point having a rev-happy fast car?

Getting back on topic:-

(1) The power difference is actually most noticeable at low to medium revs (in my view). The car feels smoother (whatever that means, I am going by my ear and bum dyno) at all rev ranges, though.

(2) I would have thought that a car that does a fair bit of low speed and low rpm work may well benefit a lot from the better additives/cleaning properties in an expensive fuel.

(3) Who wouldnt be a bit miffed if buying a Porsche and the previous owner said "I have only ever but cheapo fuel in it because I cant tell the difference?". Not sure I would buy it (including because it would make me wonder what other corners had been cut).

I use both V-Power and BP Ultimate, depending on convenience. Haven't really noticed any difference between teh two in the Porsche but in previous turbo-charged cars I've owned, I noticed BP Ultimate seemed to give slightly better throttle response.

I've never used standard 95 RON.
