Wiper blades for 997
Discussion
Good Question! I'd like to know what is the best possible wiper you can get for a 997.
On your OPC - anyone who tells me I must do something in that manner usually gets me to do the opposite... There should be absolutely no reason why you need to go OPC for wipers - warranty or no warranty!!

These for front. Latest Bosch aero. New fixator to convert standard blades, lower profile, smoother and work brilliantly.
Cheap too, on in 15secs as side.

Are these "the best" out there?
How much for supply only of wipers from OPC, is only a 5-10 min job to change yourself.
Can buy oem wipers from indie part sellers too, for eg:

Does the £90 include labour?
I recently had my 997 windscreen replaced and asked the OPC to replace the wipers (didn't do the rear one).
On the bill they charged me £28 labour and:
P996.628.901.08 WIPER BLADE SET £32.06.
So total was £60.06+VAT = £72.07 total
Your £90 sounds about right for all 3 including fitting.

When I asked this question last year I received quite a few reccomendations for the PIAA wipers. I then went ahead and bought them (£45 for the two fronts) and have been very pleased with them. However, your OPC will notice these are not the factory items as they're branded (the same goes for the Bosch ones you want to get at Halfords).
I'll leave you to mull over whether the risk/reward in terms of the infamous OPC warranty is worth going down the aftermarket route...
Silicon wipers from PIAA. For all your cars.
A product that exceeds your expectations. If you are doing motorway speeds, in the rain you don't even need the wipers working, the coating they have placed onto the screen (in normal useage) is that good. At lower speeds the rain beads so that vision is better between sweeps.
Really.

Anyone got a link to the PIAA part number or catalogue, I need some for my 997 and 993.
Just go by length. I chose straight ones for the 993, so there is a small gap at rest, but the screen is swept perfectly. I didn't get the 'spoiler' version, and the wipers are perfect even at top speed on circuit. You can buy just a 'refill' for the back wiper if you have one, and the 'refill' can be made to fit into the existing (mad) housing.
BTW I bought ones for the 993 in 2008 and they are still in perfect condition (and obviously pass each MOT) though I suppose that is only 20k miles.

He is right about generally only buying OEM wipers for the 997 as they have a slightly different shape as pointed out by a previous poster.

Have a look on their website:http://www.piaa.co.uk/wipers/wipers.asp

I think so, not a fan of the PIAA due to smear you get from silicone. But most don't not what I am talking about and think I am fussy. Each to their own.
