Stereo upgrade on an older car

Looking for a bit of advice...I'm looking at options to upgrade the stereo on my 986 from the standard Porsche CDR22. I do actually like the simplicity of operation of the CDR22, plus the flip front is quite neat, and of course the way that it blends in to the rest of the interior. I do have dash and door speakers, although a bit more volume and quality would be nice. So questions are...

Which head unit? Ideally, it needs to have the following:
-Understated looks that complement the interior and dash lighting colour
-NO flashing displays/stupid spinning graphics/fish swimming across the screen that cannot be turned off
-CD
-AM/FM/MW/LW but possibly DAB
-Bluetooth phone connection (ideally 2 phones simultaneously)
-Bluetooth iPad connection (to stream music from the iPad)
-Aux in socket
-Not too expensive

Or, do I just install a Becker iPod connector, and a Parrot CK3100 car kit which I already have?

What about speakers? I appreciate these are more important than the head unit for sound quality, or will the slightly rattly 986 interior, wind buffet and flat 6 on-song make any speaker upgrades a bit pointless anyway?

If yours is a twin din unit, look up the Zenec NC524, I have fitted it to a 996 and 997.1 and it is superb with IGO8 nav, still have it with surrounds, as I always put the car back to standard when selling. I wouldn't mess with the speakers isn't worth it. Will sell it and necessary bits if interested.
