Well, as some of the more regular posters on here will know, I have been looking at a 996 turbo for a couple of years now, but I have finally Sold my Escort Cosworth ( 
) and a load of bits, and am picking up a very nice totally standard 996 turbo tomorrow night from a good friend who has owned the car for the last for years, and has been meticulous looking after it.
He looked at 15 before he bought it, so it has saved me the hard work of finding a minter myself! Getting it for what I consider to be an absolute steal as well, I will post some pics up tomorrow

As promised, a few pics of the new toy. Really happy with it so far, very quick even for a bog standard manual 420bhp K16 car, feels quicker than the standard figures suggest, it's pulling 0.6/0.7 bar.
Its got a good selection of options, hard back body colour sports seats, full black leather, body colour centre trim, quad tip exhausts, silver vents, alcantara head lining, Ali pack dials (makes the interior much more modern IMHO), Bose HiFi. It is on 76k miles, with the added bonus of a full Porsche OPC history fully stamped up & varified, plus a good mate has owned it for the last 6 years and has been very well looked after, just had 4x new Pzero N rated tyres & discs & pads all round as well! Had it at what I consider to be an absolute steal, almost felt bad taking it off him!
Of course I have broken it already, so my first job to do is the alternator
What better way to learn your new car than to rip it to bits?
I think it will get mapped & exhausted at some point in the future, which will probably mean doing a clutch as well, but even as a standard car it goes pretty well IMHO, can see why they are such a good all round package.

(seized actuators ) or are you one of those who insists on "erecting" it on every trip ? best not to, the Rozzers know it comes up above the National speed limit. . just pulling your plonker mate. . enjoy it ! great choice
