I have driven the P1 XP7 in the test on track, along with 2 other P1s on the road, also a 918 on track and a friends car, Whilst I agree they are both great cars, and the P1s party piece is 30-150mph, As CH, says its from another place.x
In every other area, brake feel aside,( if the P1 brakes are 10 feel wise, then the 918 is 9.) I genuinely and honestly believe that the 918 is superior to the P1, What it comes down to is that that the 918 can use more of its power more of the time.

The 918 that I drove on track was mapped back to 600bhp, and my friend had only just taken delivery of his 918,same day. I fully expect that the fully optimised 918 will be up there at least as fast in a line as the P1.
We already know its faster round the ring

Ah ok did not realise, interesting.Smashing sounding car anyway the 918 and by far the best looking car out of the 3 hypercars IMO. Wish topgear had managed to stick in a laptime on the 918 just to see how it compared with the slick shod Huayra even if Mclaren weren't providing a car for a back to back...

a lot of the P1 components are built up off site, my recollection is that it takes one full day to assemble each P1.
and me, my understanding is that Porsche made a 918 available but TG did not feel that it was fair to test alone. Thats only fair imv,
Both great cars
The 918 looks like the real deal.
Typical Porsche, make a hyper car totally useable, almost looks as if it could be driven every day. I also imagine it's been through the full Porsche reliability testing regime. So much more a complete car that I bet more miles will be driven in 918's than will ever be driven by P1's and La Ferrari's put together.
Would be first on my list.
