wet door carpet in my 2006 boxster

I noticed the other day that the door carpets were soaking wet after a major downpour. I gather that this is due to the seals failing for one reason or another. I have two questions if anyone can help.
1. Do I need to disconnect the battery to take the door panel off.
2. I cannot find a radio code in any of the books, my car is fitted with PCM

The seal on the metal membranes will have gone as they have a bead of poor quality foam with deteriorates. To remove the door card is a fairly simple job but to remove the membrane, you will need to take the door airbag off as well as the door control unit/motor and speaker off (so disconnect the battery)., then you feed the loom out of it and job done.
Your PCM will not need a code on a 2006 so you should be ok.

Thanks for the info,sound like a big job? I don't suppose you have any idea how much a garage would charge to do it. I don't like the idea of disconnecting loads of stuff in case I can't get it all back together.

Had the same problem with my 911.
New door membrane £110 and 4 hours labour... £310 in total

Not good news I need both doors doing (( the question now is, do I do it myself. I suppose I could always take the car to the garage if I can't get everything back satisfactory. Can anyone give me some help on how to get the door panel off?

Had my 996 drivers door done by Jaz Porsche recently......it cost £172 inc everything and I don't think they needed to disconnect the battery either. Watching them do it, the hardest part to me is finding all the screws that hold the door panel on.

Is it wet beind your drivers seat on the floor? If so its most likely blocked drain holes. Id get them cleaned out asap as thats where your ECU sits and can cost a fortune to repair

If its just the bottom of the inside door thats wet its not so urgent - I had 2 boxs where the membrane went, never bothered to replace it
