Squeaky PCCBs

My PCCBs have become very squeaky at low speed, 0-15 mph, so much so that pedestrians look round ! I had assumed it was perhaps due to glazing. I've given them a couple of good thrashings and got then hot, but no change. There's plenty of life in the pads, there are no stones or anything else trapped around the discs. There's no noise at higher speeds, with either heavy or light breaking.

Anyone else had similar or know of a cure ?

Mine do it occasionally for a few miles then it just goes away. As you said, pad condition or recent usage doesn't seem to make a difference.

try a trackday...

repeated stops from a high speed works wonders for squeaky brakes.........

and yes, my spyder PCCBs stopped squeaking afterwards.

I would agree they are probably a bit glazed, especially if you think they've lost a bit of their normal 'bite.'
If the above ideas don't work, in my experience you'll have to remove the pads and de-glaze manually with some abrasive paper on a flat surface.

Interestingly mine became quite badly glazed on a track day once.

It's a known 'characteristic' of the Porsche pccbs.

Take them to your OPc to have the pads cleaned. it really helped mine.

Had this on my turbo. All you can do is remove the pads and sand them down a bit. Then make sure all damping plates are in place and grease things up.

I find they make an odd noise if they get very wet, like being outside in the pouring rain overnight.
But it goes away.

From my understanding squeaky brakes is cause by the trapped gasses between pad and disk . By clearing groves in brake pads does have an effect .

Mine used to squeak on the GT2 when cold, once up to operating temp they were fine.
Doubt its anything to be concerned about
