The other RS they have there in red has been discussed on another forum. The engine is out of a regular C2

Maybe they think that selling the genuine 3.8 RS for £350k makes this seem like a "relative" bargain in comparison

The prices of these cars are getting ridiculous and I say that having fairly recently bought the first 964RS NGT that Porsche made. The bubble has to burst soon and I think there are going to be a few people with egg on their face. 2.7RS's are going for £800k. How the hell is that justified?

Having said that, someone make me an offer. If it involves a night with Holly Willoughby and a price beginning with a 2 I may be interested.

I think this is all starting to come down to dealer greed and mugs with too much money.

In many ways it reminds me of the last classic bubble of the late eighties (the dealer greed), however unlike last time, in this day and age, there are far more global millionaires out there after the same thing.

I can't really see it coming to an end yet, well not until the next big thing that they want to spend their money on that is.

What a double edged sword for the long time RS owner. Bought it to track and enjoy years back, now sitting on a potential gold mine and possibly getting to the point (depends on how wealthy I guess) of it being worth so much, that they dare not track it anymore.

Not sure I follow Hexagon's pricing... Many of the cars there have been on sale for months.

The Arena red 993 C4S they have, hasn't sold @50k... So they have upped the price recently to 55k !
Do they ever sell anything there?

No, my point is that if they can can mark up a bitsa by £100k (compared to the previous value) then they have probably marked up the silver original car by the same amount

Is this not the car that had been in for repairs from one knock, the owner picked it up from that repair and crashed it on the way home (or very soon after) then decided to go Widebody?

That makes an interesting question to answer, just how much is it really worth? Back in the sane days, say 2006 -07, just what would this car have gone for. 50K?, more, less? A bitsa, maybe even less.
That's the trouble with todays market, and I am so glad I'm not out there purchasing. Common sense values have gone, and it seems to me, dealer greed has taken over, punters with the same car are bigging up the value of their own cars because of this, as they see others for sale at big prices which is fully understandable.

I can well believe this, I read an article about the fella who owns it not so long back, I was not impressed.

What really gets my goat is that good people who have earned their money are/can be paying over the odds if their not careful to fulfill a dream, and not all punters are savey to the pitfulls of dealing with car dealers..

its starting to make some of the GT watercooled stuff (996 Turbo/GT3, 997 Gen II, 997 Turbos) look cracking value in comparison if bang for your buck and fun factor is the focus
