PCM 1 display light

Hi,
Just need some advice on my PCM 1 display light which has stopped working, it starting flickering on and off while i was driving down the motorway for about 10 minutes and now it has gone out completely , everything still works but i can just about make out what radio station it's on,, has anyone come across this before and what are my options , because if it ain't a cheap fix i might as well change it over for a new stereo as the pcm 1 is not the best sounding system anyway.
