991GT3 in Autocar Drift Challenge 2014

Just as the whole galaxy happens to be speculating about the future of new 911GT3s and the, so called, 'engine related issues', let alone Porsche's 'advice" (?) to those who have the car not to drive, what do we see this morning?
A multi-page feature in this week's Autocar, namely their traditional annual Drift Challenge. And who happens to be one of the main protagonists of this exercise? Our dearly beloved 991GT3 in the shape of the PCGB white press car with the 911GB number plate!!!??? Leaving aside the fact (for good or bad, that is) that the latest GT3 did not seem to be one of the most "driftable" cars, one is tempted to ask oneself:
a) how can a product (car) that is presently on "stop sale" and "stop production" be included in any such project?
b) does the PCGB press car, by any chance, already have a revised and 'safe' engine so it can be used freely and safely to its full potential (as the exercise of the kind inevitably requires)?
c) does the PCGB press car still contain the original engine - which would only confirm the already well known fact only SOME of the GT3s produced so far actually do have an issue with the piston rod bolts rather than all of them?
It was delightful to see the new GT3 back in life in Autocar, but...adding insult to injury to 785 affected Porsche loyalists (sorry, probably 78.5 true Porsche loyalists, the rest OCD residual value speculators) or...what? If the PCGB press car is good enough to drift around Oulton Park, perhaps everyone else should be ok to take their beauty out for a hygienic gentle walk around the block???
All this, of course, while the great unwashed world is waiting for the magic letter from Porsche and all the generous and gregarious "goodwill" gestures - oh, and some new engines, of course!!

Great post. Have also seen a USA article on the car against a Z28 track special which looked like it was conducted after the stop drive along with the may issue of Porsche World having an article on a US 991 GT3 already modified (which I presume was also written after the stop sale date but I may be wrong). I think you'll see the 991 GT3 aired with a vengeance when they get back on the road after May. Hope they did a bloody good job on torquing that rod bolt within tolerance because those b
