Sale or Return - anyone done it at an OPC?

I suggested SOR at the dealer where I bought my GTS and they're not keen. Seems simple enough for my mate who's selling is V8V so why aren't Porsche keen? Just to give themselves more margin?

Wouldn't it have to go through the 111 inspection process and have all detail rectified (respray panels with x amount of stone chips etc) before they could sell it as approved used Porsche.

So I guess they would be spending time/money on a car they didn't own which could be withdrawn by the owner, hence reluctance.

Have done it when changing cars - same dealer - not an issue. Had to pay the 111 point check plus a wheel alignment but still worthwhile.

They will only do it if it suits them. I wanted to do SOR when recently selling my 991 4s Cab. The OPC gave me a doom and gloom scenario, saying it may not sell etc and they would have to reduce it month by month if it didn't. In addition they said they could only advertise it for x amount. Well I belived them so took their lower offer. They then straight away advertised it for 2k more than they they told me they could and it sold it in 48 hrs! Lesson learned - never trust a thing a dealer says. I have spoken to a different OPC since who said they only do SOR for thier best customers puts me in the picture with my current dealer, having bought 2 911 C4s Cabs and 1 981 Boxster S from them in the last 18 months and they still happily lie.

My advice, if they won't do sale or return find another OPC or sell privately..

I did SOR at Leicester and I incurred no charges but I would have got the bill had I decided ultimately not to sell through them.

I did this with Wilmslow OPC with my 991 last year. They actually suggested it as they said I would get a better deal than straight PX. Car was sold in just over a week and I got the price I was after. They also made a healthy profit.

This is what I was hoping for, but the OPC I sold through with were too greedy and have now lost my future business as a result.
