991 GT3/RS 'pecking' order

A) 10k - 15k over list appears to be the going rate - that's a strong indication that cars are difficult / impossible to get hold of
B) The number of GT3 RS cars is likely to be much lower than standard GT3s. I wouldn't be surprised if most dealers got 2 or 3 cars at most. And those people who want these cars have placed deposits 12-18 months ago.

I think "no chance" is fairly accurate...

Speaking to a chap who has worked for Porsche nearly 30 years and knows all the guys at Reading, there is going to be maybe one car per dealership, two if they are very lucky, but clearly some will get no allocation and others may get a couple. I would ask for the deposit back, people who were 5th on the list for GT3's didn't all get a car. Always worth calling around though to see if he could get higher up somewhere else.

I enquired at a couple of OPC's. Happy to take my 10k (Obviously) I was going to be No. 3 on the list and was pretty much told no chance of getting one.

From what I understand, yes, I think it is good that they do this personally, it's the kind of car that needs low numbers to maintain the hailo status.

From what I understand, yes, I think it is good that they do this personally, it's the kind of car that needs low numbers to maintain the hailo status.

its not just that its the world wide demand...also new markets.....if it were me I would just buy a GT3 at the 15k overs, while they are still around....still a bargain imv, how much is the 458 Spe.....250-260k....

its not just that its the world wide demand...also new markets.....if it were me I would just buy a GT3 at the 15k overs, while they are still around....still a bargain imv, how much is the 458 Spe.....250-260k....

I agree with that, they are a great car compared to what they go up against in the tests, just look at EVO when it was up against an F12 which is £150k more, I think if are happy to wait until next year, you will start to see the odd one pop up at OPC's not asking over list as people move onto something else.

Should also add that the UK is a big market for the GT cars, more than the emerging market countries at the moment.

the point being that P want the GT range in other markets, ie less for the UK..

I disagree.....OPCs all have waiting list for new or used...don't think you will see many come on to the market....

they said that about the 997.2 RS but in the early days most GT adverts were for 997.2 RS cars, they were easy to pick up.
pick a colour of your choice and go buy one.

now they are not and none come for sale or if they do they are now £125k

wait till OCT though and you will get 10 or 15 or so GT3 come to market, it always happens year on year.

I am sure we will see normal 991 GT3's on the market, but maybe not the RS this time round.

As to the OP

I would say the 918 customers, the VIP list. Then if any left between the OPCs..
