Just back from a drive in the cayman for the sake of it.

What an amazingly spot on car in my humble opinion. Pdk is so fast and smooth both when pottering and when pressing on. ceramics are also first rate.

I did exactly that in my Cayman S today. I also have no regrets about buying the Cayman over a 911.

I only just resisted the urge to go out tonight, but as it's having a sports exhaust fitted tomorrow, I will wait until then.

Are you going genuine Porsche, and is that switch-able like the factory fit version?

Just back from visiting the folks in mine and was thinking along the same lines - this car is perfect for me, I don't miss the GT3 at all now.

Sports exhaust is great and seems to be getting louder as time goes on?

I am indeed going for the genuine Porsche exhaust. Portsmouth have offered a great deal on figment and I could not refuse.

Are you going to any events over the next few weeks, eg the Supercar event? Or simply Porsche?

+1 for a sports exhaust. Mine is freakin' awesome and when the car is accelerating hard it reminds me of the old F1 type noise. Not exactly of course but it's the sort of high pitched noise that one can hear when the car is coming towards you as well as away from you. In my 450 Chimaera with stright thro' exhausts the growl was so deep (as one would expect from a V8) that it wasn't really noticeable until the car was passed the observer. My wife can hear me coming home now from some distance!

Be careful to make sure that you check that there will be no booming in the cabin, or at least find out whether there will be booming at low speeds. I have no idea what system I have (it was installed by a previous owner and the chaps at the Porsche service centre east London thoguht it was one of the nicest sounding Porsches they had had in their workshops, all according to the service manager) but I think it may be a S Borla XR-1.
