All back safely, over 2500 amazing miles, every manual GT3 represented, Austria/Germany/Italy/France, fairly messy in the evenings, michelin starred resturants, the odd lapdancing joint, a few other minor details but what goes on tour stay on tour !

Highlights included the Black Forest, Hitler's Eagles Nest & the Rossfeldstrasse, Gmunden, Vienna, The Dolomites, Stelvio Pass, Passo del Bernina & the Klausenstrasse.

Awesome work chaps! Out 'walking the walk' as opposed to sat here talking about it!

Cant wait for my Euro trip in September - 9 days across 6 countries (France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Austria)

sure ere you go

have the route files if you want them:

btw: stelvio is a joke, go there for a nice view and some high altitude but as a driving road it wouldn't even make my top 100 list .... even the run down to Bormio the other side is far better

Cheers!

I've been up Stelvio "backwards" (from Bormio) at night in my Triumph — didn't even get the view!

Another nice one Jackal - can't beat a bit of eurohooning!!

Shame you didn't enjoy Stelvio. I never knew there was a right and wrong way??

I did it just after the Monaco GP, conditions were touch and go but that meant they shut the road just after me so I had the whole thing to myself - which is nice.
I went Bormio over to Traffoi and then to Davos and straight over the Fluela pass which is a good run.

My route UP

My route DOWN

I've seen lots of Stelvio videos in which the run is ruined by traffic. I think you either need to get lucky (me) or stay at the Berghotel and get up at 0600 for a full on attack.

Can a road be too twisty - maybe Stelvio is - it does not flow like Offenpass Fluela or Col de Turini but as a challenging road on which to try to get some power down its certainly not easy and the views are breathtaking. Bit chilly on the top mind -2C on my run.
