Is the Fabspeed Super Cup too loud to live with on a day to day basis? (on a 3.4 996) It sounds awesome on the website, and for £325, it seems like a real bargain. The Maxflow seems a little quiet(ish)
I also heard the Tubi 'GT3' system and that sounded as good or better. Anyone know something about Tubi systems for a 996?
Does anyone have either Fabspeed or Tubi on a 996? Or perhaps you could recomend something else?

Thanks

My experience (on a 993 mind you) is that the Fabspeed website videos make the exhaust sound quieter than it really is. I bought the Supercup pipes for my 993 and they sound awesome, incredible sound but VERY LOUD.

They are currently for sale on the classifieds

I'd be surprised if they used different video equipment for the 996 pipes versus the 993s, though I could be wrong...

It seems the Fabspeed Super Cup system and the Tubi one are made by the same people, and is pretty much the same product.

I spoke to someone at Tubi, (who, by the way, was very helpful and knowledgable) he said that it is a royal pain in the arse to fit the Supercup system to the 996. However, the Fabspeed one can be "fitted in 45 mins" acording to the good folk at Fabspeed. Mmmmm?

Would love to hear one in person and not via a sondbite on the net! It would have to be pretty loud and offensive for me to put the muted items I currently have back on.

I'm sure my snooty Close would be even more peed off at my presence than they currently are, this can only be a good thing

I have the Fabspeed on my 996 turbo. They are very loud. Fine to live with, if you don't do long journeys very often! You get quite a bit of resonance inside at lower RPM (2-3k), but they do sound awesome!

Do you have the Super Cup GT3 bypass system or the Maxflow mufflers?

The good folk at Scuderia said they could fit the Maxflow, and if not happy, put the old system back on with no charge, which is very fair. They cannot do the same with the Super Cup bypass pipes, again, this is fair enough. The maxflow doesn't seem that loud on the soundbite I've heard. The Super Cup on the other hand sounds awesome. These things however often sound different up close.

The Super Cup system works out at £582 fitted, which is a stupidly low price for the sound. But a lot of money if a few hours/days later I decide it's just too loud.
