Well as I've found out today, there's plenty of new, and nearly new GT3's available at Porsche dealers in Germany for example..

There's no premium, and cars are arriving every month or so for the foreseeable future...

So if its such a great car, in huge demand for those track aficionado's, what's wrong with a LHD model, or is it really all about trying to make a quick/long-term buck on them?? rolleyes

It's only a question of time. There will be some available in the UK eventually without a premium. This is only my opinion obviously and we'll have to wait and see.

I was having a wry smile at the AP interview on YouTube about the 991 GT3 form last year and one of his justifications for the DFI engine was that they didn't have the capacity on the line to make the mezgers and by using the existing supply chain for the DFI engines (even though a lot of components are unique to the GT3?), they would reduce the likelihood of quality problems. We know the rest, I suppose.

Or is it a third reason that there is a high demand from UK customers who want a RHD car to own and drive....?

Is anyone really expecting the 991 GT3 to trade above list price long-term, even if this is the final / pinnacle of the normally aspirated GT3..?

Why would that bother an enthusiast, if it is the car of their dreams?

Yes as you can have deviated stitching, rear wheel steer, and an auto box. Pls don't ask silly questions in future and keep up.

I'm not for one. Lots of people don't see the 991 as being the pinnacle of the normally aspirated GT3 what with rear wheel steer, flappy paddle gears and suspect engines. Look at the prices of 997s and other earlier cars to see where the market currently thinks the pinnacle was.

I expect prices will stay solid (not at all sure about the premium - unless they announce no more GT3's) so long as there is easy money and a good economy.

Theres a big difference between expectation of prices and hope of prices....teacher

Maybe you are still hoping to buy one......scratchchin

I was unaware the current engines are suspect......confused

Lots of people DO actually see the 991 GT3 as the pinnacle as it appears to offer that increasingly rare perfect blend of usability, performance and hardcore now lost on many cars even twice the price.

The rising prices of 997s could actually have a positive affect on rhd 991 GT3 prices, especially having regard to their restricted numbers as Apollo rightly said.......yes

Ultimately, the market will decide which is the most valued or revered GT3, the 991, 997.2, 997.1 or 996. Little point in arguing about it now – each have their supporters and in around 12 months time someone will be able to say ‘I told you so’!

For me I opened my wallet and bought the car I thought I would enjoy most – and I don’t regret it for a second. Ultimately the worth of something is personal, but the market value provides a useful barometer to others thinking.

But to call the 9A1 engine the normally aspirated ‘pinnacle’ is a little premature; perhaps after several seasons of races wins…
