I'm fitting rebuilt turbos with new catch tanks and associated piping to my 996tt. The issue I have is that the seal quoted for the to fit between the catch tank and the turbo core is part number 90012314030 and is a crush washer 18 x 22 x 1.5 (the same one fits the drain plug for the tank. However, The catch tanks I have got have a diameter of a shade under 24mm and the depth of the recess is 1.8mm. As such, the seal ring is useless.

I can get a rubber O ring to fit lovely, but I pretty sure the heat would render this usesless pretty quickly. A 24mm washer is just a shade to big, but could be reduced in size to fit. the other slight worry is that the one retaining screw that is inside the tank doesnt appear to have any kind of sealing washer, just a normal flat brass one. Is that right?

So, has anyone come accross this before? If so what was the solution. Have the catch tanks I have been machined incorrectly?

A little obscure I know, but any thoughts woul dbe greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You need part number 999.701.598.40 (O-ring 18.65mm x 2.45mm)

Mike, you beauty!

That part number is listed as number 11 on the list with the diagrams, but there is no number 11 in the actual picture?

Do you have a couple I can buy? What would you reccomend for sealing the retaing bolt inside the tank?

Thanks

Richard

Hi,

You do not need to seal the internal Allen bolt with anything.

We are showing 0 in stock according to the computer... just ring an OPC and they should post them out straight away...

Yes number 11 on the diagram is correct.
