I think the SC is one of those models where values have been artificially hyped up in the current climate, but will return to sensible levels when common sense returns to the market. Or, buy a GTS

Agreed. Good looking car...but nowhere near £100k IMO.

What people 'ask' and what they get, if they actually sell, are often very different. We've seen lots of cars advertised at optimistic prices recently - but are they actually selling? Looking at the classifieds, many aren't and that shows the fragility of the current market.

Sports classics always sell, people have the money when one comes up for sale if they want it.

when did you last see one for sale ?

in fact every thing is selling bar cars just based on colour for 20k more than another colour.

best looking 997 IMHO - way more special and valuable and rarer than a GTS (itself a great car)

Its a smaller market and therefore they will take longer to sell. Doesn't mean people won't pay...

The reality is there were 250 made, so desirable simply based on that fact. Whether it is good value is superfluous to potential owners.

Having seen these in the flesh, they are for me the nicest looking 997 of them all, and I include my GT3 in that, wonderful car the Sports classic, just a shame it is beyond my wallet.

Sport Classic interior also stunning. almost everything covered in leather, including air vents.

Oh the interior is gorgous, lovely colour leather as well.

There was one at the Pistonheads south east meet in Westerham a while back, my favorite car there without a doubt.

yes but more came to the UK than 4.0RSs.....they are all safely tucked away in collection's...

Prettiest 997 by far the SC. Low mileage SCs will always cost a fortune but to my mind the GT3 and GT3 RS are far more desirable. GTS can do everything the SC can do albeit without the double bubble roof and one off interior.

If they'd stuck a Mezger in it and called it an RS Touring they'd be changing hands for £500k in a few years time like the 4.0 - I'd certainly have bought one if the drive train was as special as the rest of the car. Special car though and perhaps I'm splitting hairs as its so cool to look at it.
