These prices are just plain ridiculous!
Toying with a 993 C4s or Turbo (funds permitting) and came across these guys. They appear to be on another planet.
Anybody know why?

Whilst they are not an OPC, Specialist Cars possibly put the most effort into sourcing good stock and then put more effort into the pre-sale preparation of their cars than most other large retailers.
The cars are simply presented better than elsewhere, whether you personally place a premium on this or not is up to you.
I am not connected in any way with Specialist Cars and am in fact a small retailer myself who aspires to have their breadth & depth of stock one day.

You get the same (if not better) prepared cars at P Woolley Automotive www.911sport.co.uk without the complacent pricing.

Most of the cars seem to be £1-2k over the norm IMHO
I have just notices that the official porsche website has no used 993's at all!
I don't think you'll find hardly any there now, only in specialists like Camtune, paragon, rjs etc.
Always see some nice 'S's advertised in the back of 911+Porsche world, or GT purely Porsche mags.

Just to back up Alans point, I've been up to see that dealer when looking for a Mk1 GT3 last year and was impressed by the quality of the stock and the preparation of the cars - they appear at the premium end of the market for the buyer you may be a little more fastiduous. One point to consider - they were able to offer my a very good trade price for my own car that may make the overall deal better.

Bought my car from SCofM and would agree with the comments regarding the quality and preperation of their stock. Anyones who has ever bought a dog of a 911 will also agree that a couple of £K on the asking price is peanuts compared to the cost of trying to bring a poor car upto scratch.
FWIW they did me a very good trade in price and the cost to change was the same as other independants and £7K cheaper than OPCs even though they had the best car I had viewed.
No affilation yadda-ya
Edited to add that a caterham with a 4.5L TVR engine is taking the piss. " Ideal for trackdays" - yeah when you're bored with base jumping.

As UK Trucks says, they do offer top cars, though at a price. From my own experience the service dept is excellent also. Glyn the general manager is very efficient.
When you see the cars in the flesh, the premiums make sense to a large degree.
The black GT2 'RS' is knee weakening in the flesh!
Glen, the yellow GT2 has 12K miles on the clock, and has 550 bhp. It was in one of the indie Porsche mags with a yellow GT3 and 996TT 6 months or so ago. Although sadly (depending on taste
) the car has lost the black Techart wheels and carbon top rear spoiler it sported in the article.
Have a good weekend all.

If the cars are as good as people say they are, then they may well be worth the money.
It's often worth thinking how much many people spend on their cars to bring them up to scratch. £5k doesn't go far.
...and that 993 GT2 mmmm. Now if it was £110K as was a similar mileage and condition one in a garage in Petworth some time ago (it went in a few days before I could even begin to ummm and arrrr about going to look at it)...

thanks again to all you guys who appreciate the hard work we put into preparing our cars.
with regards to the gt2 sold for £110k and ours seeming a bit over the top, i should point out that ours had not been colour changed and reshelled by a main porsche dealer. also double the mileage.
kind regards
