HELP I've blew a water hose !!!

Hi guys well my 996 911 blew a water hose last night. Here is some pics of it. From this can you work out do I need the new hose or can it be re fitted. It looks like it sheared off and the piece is joins into is a T shape that feeds 2 other slighty larger pipes if that makes sense ??

If I need a new hose any idea what part number it is ???

No worries I know it's hard to see from pics.

Fingers crossed it's not done anything major.

I was very close to home and didn't over heat although there was lots of steam out of the rear.....

Any help/pointers appreciate it

If I understood you correctly, the hose is fine, the T piece snapped off and that is what you need to buy.

Also those spring style clips are supposed to be replaced by new ones if removed.

It's a "T" piece but it incorporates a plastic joint that is permanently attached to the short hose that goes to the bottom of the header tank.

Access is easy with the air filter box and air pump removed.

Would anything else make this part fail ?

Or it just age related ?

Just wonder if anything made it go under more pressure and made it break.

Off to get sorted tomorrow, fingers crossed it's just this that's failed.

I would say that the plastic just went brittle over time and with engine vibrations etc the part eventually just cracked.

There is not really anything else (related) to worry about.

Glisantin G40 is a suitable replacement for lost coolant unless you prefer paying a lot more for one that says "Porsche" on the can...
