House prices are now falling in most part of the country, especially london (which is heavily indicative of Asian money). The pound is strengthening making foreign investment less meaningful, tougher lending criteria since April have generally slowed the market and buyer confidence has dropped with looming interest rates on the near horizon.

At the same time I also see quite a number of cars hanging around and being price corrected too. A couple of 993RS, lots and lots of turbos, hexagons look like they've done their boll0x on a fair bit of stock, some 964's and whilst i've not looked at F's that much there does seem to be a glut of Strads and Scuderias up for sale and sticking around whereas 4 or 5 months ago there wasn't an example in sight.

Coincidence ? Or will metal now generally start to drop ?

993 Turbos are definitely over-priced in my opinion. They might never be £50k again but they are not £100k! Don't know about RS stuff etc, they might come off a bit but I can't see a crash. Interest rates might go up a bit but enough to stress the value of these cars? Not sure.

Run of the mill stuff to stay the same or maybe still to rise. Aircooled Turbos have gone sily. RS, well I can't really seem them dropping too much.

The problem with people ranting that 911s are going through the roof very rarely think of what else has gone up like a rocket.

Seriously when you see old Mini Coopers going for 30K plus, an aircooled 964/993/3.2/S.C is a bargain at 25K. I've always wanted an RC30 Honda 750, one of the finest motorcycles ever built, and quite a few they did build. I could have bought one 10 years ago for around 8K, I was offered one the other day for 28K... 28K? Makes a 'standard' aircooled 911 seem a bargain.

Think some dealers have driven up asking prices even if cars didn't trade at those inflated levels.

Bit of a correction is no bad thing, but I do think some of the rarer cars that have developed a following will not drop too far.

To your point, how much should a decent 993TT (with say 60k mls) be worth ?

Richard, most forecasts for London indicate growth of over 20% in the next 5 years.

Er, if you're selling in any part of desirable London you're still dealing in sealed bids and plenty of them. Population growth expected to be 1m over the next 15 to 20 years, demand only strengthening.

I didn't get the memo about falling London property prices either. Maybe a bit of a slow down in price rises but it's still rising. Zoopla also missed the memo.

London property remains a better investment that even the most special of GT3's

There isn't going to be a crash, but there may be a correction, and a few punters will get their fingers burnt.

Some dealers are listing some cars at silly prices - and agree, 993Ts and 996RSs are amongst them.

But, overall, bought wisely, and with the exception of a global disaster, it's an expanding market.

Too low in my opinion. I'd say more like £75k

The wind has been taken right out of those sails. Any forecasts or conjecture about the next 5 years cant change that. Its already happened !

Collectable, limited numbers cars will carry on being collectable although prices may stabilise compared to recent months.
Battered old SCs and 3.2s being pitched at £25k-£30k are in for a return to normality. As are high mileage 964s etc.

Just my 2p.

I just purchased two houses in Northeast London, trust me prices are still going up, there is lack of good stock in Estate agents and more money than sense chasing what they do have!

Will be watching with interest.

Auctions are driving a lot of the acceleration in prices, once a few cars dont sell cars will start slipping back.
