991 Turbo S options list

Very tempted in to buying one of the current stock of virtually new, pre-owned cars that are currently out there. Looking for opinions from those that have one, what options did you / didn't you go for that you wish you hadn't / had?

I really like the ventilated seats in my Cayenne - yes I do occasionally suffer with terrible flatulance. Keep quiet in the cheap seats! - but it appears there aren't that many cars spec'ed with it. I do realise the HVAC is very good so perhaps I just need to forget about it and move on.

Would very much like to hear peoples' opinions please.

for me the glass roof is a must....and the S alloys,

Thanks Apolo. Glass roof seems pretty commonplace fortunately as definitely want that. Anything else you have on yours? Opinions on Burmester vs standard Bose.

Rumour has it they're not selling well and buyers are nervous of poor residuals?

I am not a music fan, so I did not spec it, but if you like your music, I would spec it. To repeat the same sound quality in a home system would cost you over 30k

My car is 12 months old next month, done 9k,changing for a new one, same spec but Blk, 10k to swop, seems to have held well price wise.....

I'm quite sure potential buyers are nervous of poor residuals. Essential you negotiate hard to mitigate the loss you will suffer. Don't know why, but turbos are bad news in this respect. When I looked as part exchanging my 997.2 turbo for a 991 turbo S, the depreciation was £3 a mile or £1250 a month and I didn't feel the car offered enough to warrant the £90k upgrade cost. YMMV, of course.

Beyond my Cayenne, which has clearly depreciated but comparitively at a slower rate than I would expect this Turbo S to depreciate, I've done pretty well historically on beating depreciation, so am having to go through a bit of a mential adjustment / preparation. Is there anything to gain / leverage going down the finance route? Haven't ever investigated this but wondered if the finance kick back to the OPC would help reduce the upfront substantially.

Typical advertised price is circa GBP135 for a car with 500 or so miles on.

How do you find it for the big trips? Looking to use it in very immediate future for family trip in to France with Mrs and 3.5 yo. Will likely put roof box on it from the Cayenne which I know will look ridiculous but got to keep the Mrs happy etc......

I have more or less every extra on my Turbo S.
The ventilated seats are very good and keep you cool which is good as the Adaptive 18 way seats are quite a snug fit. The heating also seems effective. Voice control works very well if you go for the Sport Design Steering wheel (which looks much nicer than the Multifunction wheel IMHO).
Two colour interior looks nicer as you get the contrast stiching which you lose if the interior is all the same colour.
The Burmester system is very very good.
I have the glass roof which makes the interior light and the contrast with the roof/bodywork works very well.
The only extras I do not have are Adaptive Cruise Control and TV for the PCM. Neither seemed to be worth it.
Centre lock wheels seem to cause some debate - I have them on mine but others seem to come with the normal Turbo wheel.

Finding ours very good, only had it a couple of weeks, but heading to France next week, which will allow run in.

Options wise from memory, we only went for Burmeister, ISOFIX, vent seats, changed the mirrors to electric folding and added some painted exterior bits. A lot of the options are cosmetic, so that is very personal. Being a cab, the vent seats are very helpful, but even with the roof up they can be nice, but I wouldn't say needed in a coupe, just crank up the AC. Longest trip I have done currently is up to Peterborough to see Paintshield, but the car performed very well and was perfect, so I can only see it getting better on a longer run, I think it was running at about 26mpg, but that did involve sitting in solid traffic in London for about 40mins, so pretty good.

The only option I could see as being useful that we don't have, would be adaptive cruise for long continental journeys, but that is hardly an issue as you can quiet happily get by with the normal system.

Re finance, up to you, sometimes they have a finance incentive running where you get a contribution towards the deposit. Best thing to do is get the most out of them paying cash, then see what else they can offer with finance, you can always get out of the finance after three months.

I have Burmester in my Cayman S which I think is the same system that’s in a 991 and I love it.

When I change it for another new Porsche I'll choose it again for sure.
