maybe someone can help me...in my gt 3 (aproxx 15 K Miles) a strange noise gets louder and louder...it comes from the back wheels and occurs only when cornering at low speeds...like something with the diff lock is wrong...any ideas???

If it's only when cornering in one direction it might be a wheel bearing - or both directions if you're unlucky.

2nd gear...low revs...sounds a bit like a coffee grinder? as stated LSD......
amplified a lot if you have the light weight flywheel of the Clubsport/RS models fitted.

just a descriptive word for an uneven noise - my GT3 also "chunters" away at low speed and low revs - it REALLY likes to be revved, otherwise sounds like somone has dropped a bag of spanners into the engine bay.

Chuntering is a kind of mild mechanical 'shuffling' noise. It isn't particularly nice to listen to (it sounds like mild mechanical resistance or recalcitrance), but isn't harmful in most cases.

I know...first time revvin' into the red zone was a great feeling...so you think that is nothing to worry about - as long as I keep the engine above 4 K rpm...

and shouldn't ever be confused with chundering, which is something different altogether.

if under warrenty I would ask opc for their advice - at leasst if they say is ok and it goes pop you may have some comeback.

If we on PH say its ok and it goes pop then well err... should have taken it to opc

The diff makes a terrible sound. Makes me wince every time, which is why when manoeuvring in a tight bend (like a car park), I tend to dip the clutch round corners.

Other sounds to look out for in a GT3 but nothing to worry about:

- boing sound from the springs when going up and down driveways, especially if the car's been sitting for a while
- squealing from the passenger seat between 6 and 8000 revs.

I've never driven a GT3 with a passenger but I would guess you are right

Ah yes, I remember the cult of the 'TC' from my college days, not part of the PSM system, but a tactical chunder...usually practised by ladies around 10pm mid pub crawl

Those were the days.

I'd say you have a problem with your Blunkett - a specialist job to resolve this though

FWIW some oils are better than others at shutting up a chatty diff, if / when a car's out of warranty it's worth trying another brand of high quality synthetic lsd goo. Had this kind of diff chatter on my 911T and an oil change shut it up for good.
