The 996 Aerokit Carrera, specifically the spoiler.

Here it is on a 996.1 cabriolet

Here it is on a 996.1 coupe

Here it is on a 996.2 coupe

The question is, are they all one and the same part that can fit to all variants (996.1 & 2, coupe and cab), or is there a different version for each?

none of those look like the 996 aero kit to me, but then you are showing 996.1 and 996.2 cars

the MK1 gt3 had the aero kit and that's the one you want if you want to fit one imo to a 996.1 car.

That's the Aerokit Cup, and I agree.

Still need to know about the Aerokit Carrera though....

There were 3 Aerokits for NB non GT 996's

- Mk1 Aerokit Cup 1 GT3.1 look a like Coupe only
- Mk1 Aerokit same as above with a different rear spoiler (i.e the one in your pics above) Fits a Coupe and Cab
- Mk2 Aerokit Cup II with was a GT3.2 look a like fits Coupe only

Thanks. I knew all that. I just need to know whether the Aerokit Carrera (pictured in my OP) spoiler fits all 996.1 & 2, coupe and cab.

...and if the Aerokit Cup spoiler (folded Aerobie, GT3-a-like) is coupe only, then does that suggest there must be two versions of the Aerokit Carrera spolier, i.e. one for coupe and one for cab?

The Cup Aerokits are Coupe only

The middle one fits both cab and coupe and given Mk1 and MK2 NB 996s are the same at the rear end one would assume it fits both the .1 & .2

So on that logic, the Cup bootlid+spoiler assy must also fit coupe and cab?

I'm going off the tequipment catalogue which says the carrera one is for both cab and coupe whereas the cup ones are coupe only.

logically the cup kits should fit cabs but there must be a reason porsche don't state that in catalogue...could be down to aesthetics or aerodynamics?

just had another look... the cup kits include the whole decklid, where as the carrera kits only replace the mechanical bit in the existing decklid, so I'm presuming the coupe and cabs have different decklids, and on that basis the cup kits won't fit cabs.

The Cup rear wing doesn't work on the cab as it obstructs the roof mechanism.

The Aerokit "Carrera" rear spoiler is the same for any 996 '98 -'04.
It replaces the electric spoiler, which is the same for coupes and cabs.

Thanks. Pretty much what I thought.

I suppose the simpler way to have asked the question is the boot-lid common between all 4 (coupe, cab, mk1, mk2), and I think the answer is yes.
