I have 2004 Boxster S with PCM2-

An upgrade to the unit has been completed to version 3.0, whilst the radio,CD player continue to work the Navi system now says navigation not available - the upgrade was not main dealer.

I have done soft reset "148" but this has made no difference -

Can anyone help with any other potential solutions - for example, is there a hard reset option
thanks

If the car is MY2004, the PCM should have already been Version 3.0.

Are you using a V3.0 compatible map disk? Did it work before the update? Who did the update, and by what means? It should have been done using update CD part number 000.043.205.46.

Thanks for your reply

The car was produced 2003 but not sold by porsche until 2004 - my mistake
The unit was definately version 2.0 before the upgrade - everything worked satisfactorily

The navi system worked fine on the v2.0 discs , I do now have the V3.0 discs

I bought the upgrade cd online - it ran in the unit ok and updated the version to 3.0.

Hopefully they gave you the correct update CD (there is one for the Cayenne, which is different). You could try running the update again to see if it rectifies the problem, or if you would like a good copy of the correct disk, drop me an email via my profile with your address and I'll pop one in the post.

Other than that, the only other thing I can suggest is getting a diagnostic check done by someone with a Porsche tester.
