2014 Porsche Cayenne Diesel S powerboat close retrofit

Hi,

Bought a new Cayenne Diesel S and missed one box out on that 140 page of extras when ordering new. The power boot close!!!!

Simple question..

Does anyone know or had a retro fitted powerboat close kit and no where i can get mine done (pref south east uk)???

price?

To clarify, are you after a 'power boot close' retrofit or a 'powerboat close' retrofit. The latter is vastly more costly....

Anyway back to the point as i REALLY don't want to go down that route.

The parts will be available from Porsche; those parts will be expensive then the only issue is the wiring looms which will have been built to spec, to retain Warranty the correct looms will have to be obtained - essentially it is doable but you would need input and support from Porsche to do it to retain your Warranty.

It isn't as simple as throwing the bits in. Without an official retrofit you'll be hard pressed to get a result.

If you really can't live without it you'd be better cashing in on the new model Cayenne's strong demand and selling it in order to buy a car that has had boot closure factory fitted. This is a guess, but by the time you fit the wiring looms, the motors, mechanism and sensors, the switchgear, reprogramme the car and keys (you may need new key fobs, which are a silly price), not to mention labour at very high rates, you'd be into thousands of pounds in cost.

May I pls ask why you feel that it does not have this option,? I have new Style 4.2 DS, collect on launch date later in month, I did not spec this option, due it being standard...

It is standard now with the 958.2 facelift but not with the 958.1.

I can understand that you'd want this feature on such a car and I wouldn't want to miss it but I also suspect that retrofitting is going to be very, very costly. Best ask your OPC for a quote.

Confused, its 100% standard on the Face lift car, and I had it on my 4.2 Feb 13 car, that's also had it but did not spec it on the invoice, so it must have been standard on that also.

A few years ago a chap on here had water damage due to blocked drains (and got nowhere with Porsche, despite its recent service, and having bought it new and always renewing the warranty). For Porsche to be happy with the car form a warranty point of view they wanted to replace the looms that run through the cabin, which was quoted at £7000. So, the job discussed here will probably be considerably more with what's involved.

Besides the expense I'm not sure I'd want a brand new car stripped down so much and rebuilt at an OPC.
