993 rear child seats
Discussion
i have just bought a 993 and i am trying to fit child seats in the back
i can find a seat for my 2 yr old but my 1 yr old is more of a prodlem as the seats that fit him are larger and the seat belt is to short to go aroun
the porsche shop in birmingham does a seat belt extension that must be a short bit of belt with a buckle on one end and a clip on the other . has any one had any experiance with these or what else is there i can do

If you look in my profile I started a topic similar to this a few weeks ago and didnt really get any where. My daughter is 2. Can I ask what you have come up with for your 2 year old as I am still torn with the purchase of a Porsche seat although which in my own opinion doesnt really sit within the seat properly as I cannot find anything else - and beleive me I have tried everywhere.
OK, I think I can help as I have just been through the process a few weeks ago. I have to largely concur with cmj, after trying out close to every seat commercially available I ended up purchasing the Porsche products.
The extended seat belt is a replacement for the reel end of the seat belt assembly and actually has a longer length of webbing on the reel. It's quite easy to replace. The extended belt will then properly allow you to secure the Porsche Prince seat. For my older child (just approaching four) I bought the Porsche Zoom seat which is essentially a booster cushion with a backrest attached. All of the conventional seats I tried were just too wide to sit within the 993s rear seats. Interestingly, a few days back I noticed a new Britax product at Halfords, I can't remember what it was actually called but it looks very much like the Porsche Zoom at about half the price.
Good luck
