Which colour leather package to go with Guards Red?

Just speccing up a Guards Red Cayman and just found that the leather package spruces up the dull black interior for not much additional cost but not sure what colour combo matches with the Red exterior... Being typical man I'm not good at colour matching lol

I was thinking Agate Grey with Pebble Grey but the Agate Grey and Amber Orange looks nice and bold but does it clash with red? Don't want a resale disaster lol

Any pics would be appreciated if anyone has them

I'd only go black against guards red. Red stitching would liven up the seats (like red piping of yesteryear).

Red with orange is a definite resale disaster. You might find you get pulled over a lot by the fashion police too.

IMHO I think grey interior suits red really well and lightens up the dull interior.but do they still it with black dash 2 tone that would be my choice.sand beige also suits red but not something I would choose

I've sat in a GR Cayman with black leather and red dash/door inserts which looked a great combo.

I think tan looks great on a red coupe don't rule it out.

Black is nice but as the cabin is small on the cayman it can be a bit like a coal mine in the winter and too hot in the summer.

Mine is red with simple black interior with extended leather package.

I don't find it too dark or sombre yet generally avoid black interiors for that reason. The extended leather really lifts it though.

i wonder if they would do a red interior with black dash and door tops with red stitching, black/grey alcantara door, seat centers and steering wheel with a matching alcantara roof lining. well that is just me

What does your OPC recommend with regard to future trade-in?

(In the 90s I remember my dad speccing a 3-series and the dealer almost refused to sell him the car unless he specced a sunroof as it would be hard to sell without one!)

Off topic but....

When I had a BMW company car in the 90's the lease company specced a sunroof at their expense such was the necessity for residuals.

I ordered a Guards Red Boxster last year and took a long time deciding on the interior colour.
I hate black, depressing makes the interior very sombre. Non starter for me.
To lighten the inside up I went for Platinum Grey alcantara which is much cooler than leather. No regrets, I'll worry about resale in about 5 years time!!

some splashes of colour really make an interior more inviting.

I would go agate and pebble grey (which is quite light), as it provides a contrast (that is not too loud, like amber orange) with guards red.

I had this recently - I know it's a 987 but hopefully still useful. Oddly though, the door cards had black stitching despite the seats having red - it seems it was originally a dealer demonstrator so maybe they had to balance up the cost of more red stitching, but do bear it in mind and make sure that whatever you go for, you know exactly will or won't have contrast stitching.

I like guards red cars however despite having had a 987 boxster some years ago with stone grey interior that I liked as it lightened up the car and suited the arctic silver paintwork, I travelled to opc west london a couple of years later having placed a deposit on a guards red 997 with the same stone grey interior and ended up pulling out of the deal as I just did not like the red with grey interior. I later bought another guards red porsche from same opc with black interior. Imo, only black goes with guards red, some red stitching as already mentioned would help brighten the interior up, but for me grey doesn't go anywhere near as well. At the end of the day its your car you have what you like, but when it comes to re sale a grey interior will put people off

That GTS interior is nice but it would seem that it doesn't seem possible to get this option on Cayman or Cayman S!

I'm sure that perhaps the "exclusive" options may et you have bespoke interior but as mentioned in my original post is that I don't mind paying a little to bighten things up...

I may just leave it black if I choose Cayman S and leave the Alcantara part seats for the non S...

It's true to say the car is for me but as I'm not sure, i may just leave it std. black as some have suggested.

Heres the interior you mention and it will look stunning with red especially with red stitching. I've seen this colour in person and its more tan than orange. Our 964 C2 in red has a tan interior which really sets the car off. Forget about black everyone has it. I'd defo spec the bucket seats too

Thanks for the link... yes that is the full leather in Amber Orange and it does look great but not sure if it will go with Guards Red..

I had the buckets in my previous Cayman R and although they were great when you were in them, they were a pain to get in and out of and I'm wanting this car as my daily everyday car so not wanting it as hardcore this time around
