The corner of my 'Sport' button on my 997tt has been chipped, not worn out . I've circled it in red below.

What's the best way to fix it?

I was thinking the easiest would be to paint a little black paint on, but I'm worried this will look worse! Is it difficult to replace the actual button?

I fink you should get a sharp flathead screwdriver out and pop it out and bosh another one in...job done. Also reckon you shud hoover out the dandruff from the coin tray, it'll be less weight and make you go faster when you press the sport button with your sharp nails.....vrooommmmm

Maybe try Ebay or a breakers yard.

Black permanent marker. Dab it onto the area. Leave to dry for 10 secs. Gently rub finger over the area to blend and remove the 'shine' left by the pen.

I don't think there is anyway of repairing that switch, best thing to do if it's bothering you that much is just buy a new one from your local OPC and swap it over, Can't see it been that expensive but it's worth phoning them to get a price then you can decide if it's worth it or not.

Let the OPC fix it. You could slip and slide across the whole plastic face using a sharp screwdriver if you try to do it yourself, that would look very unsightly .

If you do pop it off to replace it use the plastic pry tools you can get from Maplin. They're normally used for opening mobile phones. Otherwise you'll be here next week asking how to fix a chip in the silver fascia.

That entire button strip is easy to replace, keep an eye on ebay for one and change the whole part.

If you find one on ebay that has a good replacement button but is scruffy in general then just get that as the buttons pop out from the inside once a few screws are taken out.
