Sport Chrono on a Manual C2S ?

Hi I'm on the lookout for my first 911 which is likely to be an early Gen2 997 C2S. I want a manual and know what options I'd like but wasn't sure about this one. I understand it changes the mapping and speeds up gear changes but is there any real benefit with a manual transmission ?

I have a 997.2 C2S. The sports chrono package is basically a software update for the car that provides the driver with lap/track timing abilities, sport mode, sport plus mode and launch control (if you have a PDK for the prior two). It also includes an analog clock on the dash for the timing aspect.

Honestly, you'll never use it! What you will use though are the sport button though.

When the Sport button on the center console is selected, the engine management system enhances the engine response. A modified throttle map relates the pedal angle in the footwell to a much wider angle of opening on the throttle valve. Throttle response is significantly more immediate, and, in the higher gears, a hard rev-limiter helps protect the engine under acceleration.

Vehicles with the optional Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) also switches to Sport mode for harder damping and more direct steering, and, therefore, better road holding. For maximum dexterity, PSM can be set to standby while the car is still in Sport mode. For safety, it is set to intervene automatically only when ABS assistance is required on both the front wheels.

Thanks so the Sport button comes with the Chrono package - and I'll benefit from the sharper throttle response even with a manual - the rev limiter is useful. It sounds like it's worth having.
