Anyone got shorter but still legal plates on their Porsche?
Discussion
I have a private plate (6 charachters) and always thought that a shorter plate would look better than full width plates where there is a noticable space gap either side of the letters!
I found this plate that make legal plates to a certain size depending on number of letters

I was inspired when I saw this picure posted on here but shame there was no picture posted of the front where normally there's a required number plate bracket for the curved Porsche front to attach the plate.. I wonder if you can get short ones for shorter plates?

I've got a shorter plate with standard lettering and spacing from fancyplates. Mine technically doesn't confirm as it doesn't have the BS mark and has a small Porsche crest in the border.
Did your shorter plate fit the std. Porsche front number plate holder where the black plastic doesn't show on the edges?edc said:
Go to fancyplates and just specify the length of plate you want.
My standard plate was longer than the plinth.
To be road legal, you can't specify the length; that is specified in law: "The margins at the top, bottom and side of the plateMy standard plate was longer than the plinth.

Reading that it verifies something I was told a while a go, if you read the spec, margins, borders, font size etc are specified but no actual overall size of the plate. Therefore my understanding is that if you have a low digit plate as long you adhere to the border, margin and font specs the length can be adjusted.must be 11mm". https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploa...
