Seems like 996 Rs prices have dropped 20% in last month according to Jzm...anyone else wondered what is happening there?

End of the silly season, people start focusing on Christmas and sellers need to be more realistic if they want to sell their car.

you think 120k is 20% off what it should be !!!!

Interesting. ALL the RS cars are well over priced imo, but if people will buy them at these prices then so be it.

Spyder and R prices are at 40k so a 15 to 20k drop from list with options for a 4 year old car.
So not a lot you can buy to go head to head with that for 40k

RS prices are above list by a fair way and older cars.

when you can buy any normal GT3 for 1/2 the RS price it makes the RS cars look very very expensive.

I see top 555 have put up a 997.2 GT3 at a new record though, but the 911 Virgin one looks like a nice buy vs RS cars at double the price.
Buy any non RS GT3 and spend 15k on that for a far better car than any RS, so you are only buying a Badge not the best car for the money.
ruined the market for enthusiasts which is a shame.

996 GT3 £55k
996 GT3 RS £120k
997.1 GT3 £70k
997.1 GT3 RS £120k
997.2 GT3 £80k
997.2 GT3 RS £160k

I only say this as I have been looking at a 997.2 GT3 project (IF the GT4 is pants) ie rip off the bits I don't like about them and fit a set of passive dampers and a short final drive with RS flywheel and some rear mono Ball toe links, and that would be quite a nice drive imo.

the cars that sold for £150k were low sub 10k mile cars... the others that sold for £120k were 30k milers, just like the recent one listed.

Whoosh.

The irony is lost on this one ......

P.S 1M Coupe prices holding up nicely currently, and as we all know, the little BMW that was beaten with the ugly stick trounced the CR in Evos group test.

Just sayin' ;-)

Can I ask what you're basing that question on?

Is it the 2 cars they had up at £150?

That would be the engine, gearbox, and suspension then ? Might as well just by a 7 GTS. Just sayin' ;-)

As for RS prices, the buyers appear to have called "enough", the likes of JZM etc and the well known auction houses have been pushing the price envelope all this year.
Fantastic though the water-cooled GT3 and RS models are, I don't see a 4.0 RS as being worth close to CGT money. I also tend to struggle with 996 GT3 RS at £120-40 when a Mk2 is circa £50-60k, either the "standard" car is underpriced, or the RS is overpriced, I tend to think it's the latter and that JZM along with Paul Stephens have been instrumental in driving prices up over the past 12 months.

But then I tend to think the Gen 1 997 GT3 RS is similarly overpriced, all the moreso when you consider what you get over and above a well specced Gen 997 GT3 Clubsport. Nomex seats/ harnesses, a lairy paintjob, big rear spoiler and some C4S rear arches....... .......... AG must have been laughing all the way to the bank with that one rolleyes

I dont see an asking price drop.
In the summer they had a 25ishK miler for £120k
They now have an identical car for £120k

...the only £150k car was a sub £10k miler.

A market can only be pushed up or down with willing sellers and WILLING BUYERS.

It'll be interesting to see how long it hangs around.

I reckon RHD 4LRS prices will catch & pass CGT prices.......

Those 964 RS's are so very special though Ade hehe and now rapidly heading towards 25 years old..... and currently seen as the poor mans/"cheap" alternative to the 993 RS laugh

A mate was looking at a really nice Gen 997 GT3 RS early this year. No cage, ceramics, xenons etc. Circa £98K, that car now £??????k (£150K I'm guessing) just crazy increases. A very nice Gen 1 997 GT3 JZM currently have, but would I pay £125K for it ? nono

Given the choice, which would you have, CGT or 4.0 RS ? I know where my money would go (it'd have 10 cylinders), and I'm not a massive fan of the CGT. But the engineering in a CGT is probably Porsche AG at their finest. The 4.0 RS with it's stuck on turning vanes, less so IMO. As ever, it's horses for courses, you could (if you felt inclined) use a 4.0 as a daily driver and track it every weekend, I suspect to do the same in the CGT would be a tad on the expensive side, not to mention it'd be a bit nerve racking leaving the CGT in an NCP car park.......

Which is why the best approach is to buy both smile

If only...

(BTW, are CGTs not over £500k now?)

Apologies for the slight hijack kayc, but Slippy doesn't make an appearance often..

However, prices as they currently are for the 1M and Spyder - would I be daft swapping my Spyder for a 1M?
Are both these cars heading for a fall (981 Spyder and 2M on their way..)?

I'm due a change...
