993 TT road tests & reviews
Discussion
Hi guy's I used to see loads of press reviews/road tests now not a current model I can't seem to find any reviews, road test etc.I'd be grateful if you could post some links to any 993tt road test, press reports.
P.S I still can't believe how well the car handles all weather. What's impressed me most is how easy it is to drive quickly from a to b,my previous 911 was a '91 turbo 2 with 370bhp & 380torque,Headers,H&R/Bilstien,etc but 993tt is far far a better car allround so much quicker and easier to drive fast! do you guy's agree?

I'd recommend getting a copy of the Autocar 993TT road test, 31 may 1995 starting p38. This is my preferred source for comparative data but may not be to everyone's taste.
As to agreement, you pays your money and takes your choice. I still run a similar car to your previous turbo, a little further down the tuning line maybe. When the above review came out I just had to get a test drive or three, but ended up disappointed.
Not because of anything wrong with the car, it has a surefootedness that lets a skilled driver do things I was pleased to be reminded of by MOD500 at VMax recently. And 0-60 in 3.7s with a top end of over 180 mph is hardly slow ... but I realised that by taking the Turbo 2 so far I'd gone beyond the straight line performance of a 993TT and the shove in the back effect was decidedly less. Also, came to the conclusion that the slightly faster 0-60 time for the 993 was partly due to Steve Sutcliffe being a better test driver than me. Not having to pay for anything would help in addition to the skill advantage.
Overall I think the 993TT is, these days, hard to beat. If you include the powerkit cars and farewell miodel Turbo S, they are a real bargain - if you can find a good one.

Some good ones here
Go to the bottom of the page where you will see the Performance Car, etc front covers. Click on them, and keep clicking on the individual pages to make them larger and larger as required.
Hope you are enjoying your car
Thanks for the kind words TB, it certainly was a fun lap wasn't it!!

My thoughts exactly Marki...still you never know what's on the Bosshog fast car agenda...
LOL. Indeed it does make me cry. But you know - I always cheer myself up with the thought that these cars are getting cheaper every year, so its just a case of waiting until the critical cross over point of money in bank verses cost of that TT.
But turbobloke's right - I got lots of other ideas up my sleave , so it might just be that Elise S1 with an audi TT engine stuffed in after all....!

The 911 & Porsche world TURBO supplement is worth getting too. Got a nice arena red turbo reviewed in it (my baby) along with the rest of the turbo models!
