Advice on 996 Tyres Please

Hi, can anyone help me on the following:
Why are there two sizes of tyre available for the rears e.g. 265/35/18 or 285/30/18?? What is it best to go for as I am considering replacing with p zeros?

I didn't like P Zeroes at all on my 996. I found that they were incredibly sensitive to temperatures below 10C, but also overheated very quickly on track days. Much happier with Bridgestones.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport is good if you do not need N-rating. I use Michelin Pilot Sport 2 on my 996 Turbo.

The 265 width rear tyres are the 18 size for 3.4 996. When the facelift 996 went to 3.6 the rear tyre width was increased to 285.
