XPEL or SUNTEK for my Pride and Joy?

Just about to have my pride and joy cover in protective film.
It was going to be EXPEL but the installer is recommending SUNTEK.

Had Xpel ultimate recently fitted by Armourfend Ltd and appears to be very good fit and finish and nigh on invisible. No experiemce of SunTek but understand its popular in the US.
If your using Armourfend, they also spoke about using SunTek when I originally contacted them, but actually ended up fitting Xpel Ultimate ppf.

I was told Suntek less orange peel, glossier but thinner. Xpel is definitely thicker so more protection on motorway and track but you lose that gloss.
That said I have seen the latter on a Carrera GT and could not see any significant orange peel...
At the moment I am leaning for suntek but will take a look at examples of both in real life before deciding for my new toy coming in a few weeks.

I don't think that's right. 6,5mm plays 8mm. And the adhesive on XPEL is more aggressive. Not sure it's any thicker though. Also the units are mil = 1000th of an inch and not metric

In the interest of full discolsure, I work for XPEL. My intention here is not to direct you towards one product or antoher, only to clear up some misinformation.
XPEL Ultimate film is 8.1-8.5 mil thick (there is always a little variance). That is 1.6 mil adhesive, 6 mil urethane, and .5 mil clearcoat at minimum. SunTek TC PPF is 6.5-7.0 mil mil thick. The difference in thickness is in the urethane base layer of the film.
Both are high quality products, and you have obviously done your homework if you've narroweed it down to these two contenders.
There are quite a few factors involved with choosing a film, some are visible right away, some are more related to long-term durability, some are financial motivators, and some are more how the film looks on paper (film specs, warranty coverage, etc). My advice would be not to take anyone's word for it and to see side by side demonstrations with your own two eyes before making a decision.
Just as important as than the brand of film, if not more, is choosing the most competent installer. The best film in the world can't compensate for a mediocre installer. Defititely see in-person examples of their work, as a picture from across the room doesn't do much to highlight tiny installation issues.
