Value of a 1987 911 convertible?

A friend of mine asked me how much a restored 1987 911 convertible is worth.
Can anyone help me out in answering his question please?

The car is an ex-US car and was thoroughly restored.

I know this isn't the most detailed of descriptions, but this is it for now

With so little info I'd guess somewhere between £10,000 and £25,000.

I think you're being generous there!

On a Non-UK, LHD convertible, I'd probably advertise at 25k and expect to sell for anything 20k+.

LHD are now more valuable than RHD. If it has had a thorough resto it will be concours.

more valuable in the UK or on the continent?

If it's being marketed to the continent then I can understand, but in the UK I'm not so sure...

Convertibles/targas still don't seem to hold up in comparison to the coupes either.

I'm working from a basis that for a non-supersport car, the top of the market is roughly £35k.

Supersports/930Turbo's I'm seeing sales at £50-60k.

Ah, fair enough - makes more sense!

In that case, I'll hold my hands up and say that I don't really know!

I think the only consideration would be whether the US market version was restricted in any way? I know that they quite often had hideous bumper add-ons and sometimes were a bit gimped on power due to gov't regs.

Have a look at mobile.de. It will depend on mileage...but I would guess that if the mileage is sensible, the history is good and the colour is good, then it will, probably, be €40k+...depending on where it is registered (taxes paid, etc).

The value will be restricted by it being a US car as these have a lower compression engine with 207BHP as opposed to 231BHP…but I’m not sure of the impact of this on value.
