Could have piggy backed this on pesty's recent post. Kind of similar thing happened except was not even trying to have fun, just going home after a day at work where I should not have been in the first place
The other difference is that the rear wheel is now nicely kerbed and was wondering if someone could offer contacts to solve the problem (preferably in the Swindon, Bath, Oxford area). Wheel is a 18" 3-piece Speedline (yeah, nice and cheap ...) and it looks like only the outer rim has been hit. Never been a keen supporter of trying to fix a critical component but not sure who to contact to find out what's possible, etc ... Any advice appreciated

Yup, 180 degrees. Was not even a round about, just turning after a traffic light. Must have been thinking of something else. Amazing how quickly these things happen ...

Chips Away or a Paint Technic franchise is the way to go, on site, good value and good results usually.

Sympathies to both spinners. Each winter, the same lesson is relearned at turbo towers. Almost always pulling out of a junction or exiting a petrol station and the like - cold air, turbo draws breath, opposite lockery needed for the first fifty yards down the road. Hit the kerb on a right hand exit early on and needed the services of a mobile refinisher for the rear nearside. It happens ... Happy New Year all.

The outer rim is smashed where it hit the kerb. The tyre being low profile (30) there is no rubber to take the hit. It was at low speed but the alloy is so soft, it just bent. Maybe it looks worse than it actually is, but I will be looking for the opinion of a specialist. I'll try the OPC just in case but they tend to outsource that kind of jobs anyway so am not sure they will know better.

Sorry to hear it's that bad. Alignment check as well then?

Might be worth taking a picture and posting it.
From the description though, even if someone could straighten it out, I would always be concerned about strength.
I don't know, but it may be worth a call to the manufacturer to see if they could offer to repair it, by replacing the outer rim. Doubt it, but might be worth the call.

Just had my 18" split rim Speedlines done. First class job, but not cheap. Outsources to a company in Northampton, don't know their details.

I'm hoping to take my wheels to Pristine alloy wheel refurbishers in Milton Keynes. They have agents around the country who send off your wheels. I was actually going to get mine done this week, but I'm disorganised

Thank you all for the tips, very useful . I am off to take some pics and circulate to a few people. If anybody wants to know the outcome, let me know. Cheers.

We all want to know the outcome - before and after shots please (if that possible). I currently have 2 very slightly curbed wheels, and 2 more messy ones on the wifes car too
