What annoys you in PH Porsche classifieds
Discussion
Just general moaning Thursday from me, but when having a browse, the following irritates me:
POA price for the first page if I search lowest price
The number of wrongly listed cars e.g. why is there a 3.2 and 60's 911 when I search 991 Carrera?
Stating the obvious like 'last of the air-cooled' for 993 models. Everyone knows this. You might as well include that it has 4 wheels and a steering wheel...
Cars that are listed as manual and then the interior picture clearly shows it's a slushbox
Targa's listed as Coupe
No mileage listed - to me this means it must be over 200k so I don't bother investigating
997 GTS cars listed in 991 and Carrera GT sections
To those that have done the above - DISMISSED

Not everyone knows this at all, so a seller may well capture the attention of an uncertain buyer (/speculator).Targa's listed as Coupe
There's a finite list of bodystyles that most advertising platforms use - I can see how Targa (for which there isn't a category due to their being incredibly few cars generally of this type) fits most closely with "coupe" than with roadster, convertible, estate, saloon, MPV, 4x4 etc.
If you're dismissing adverts, others may be too, meaning those that do bother with them have a better chance of bagging a good deal (due to the lack of enquiries).
Most of whats already been written but for me above all is spec.
I am talking about cars that are say up to 5 years old...
I want the full list of every factory option that the car has and the correct factory name of the colour.
I do not want any mention of standard equipment.
I do want to see interior pictures.
I would like to know the invoiced price of the car when it was new.
Very few ads meet my criteria!!!

Seeing a 996 turbo in a 997 turbo section, a 997 GTS in a Carrera GT section and a 3.2 in a 991 Carrera section are much worse to me.
If somebody has found Pistonheads, then realises that there is more than 1 x 911 (as you have to choose a model unless pre-89), then they know what they're looking for. No need for 996 owners to start stating 'first of the water-cooled' ;-)
1. Cars in the wrong section (e.g. Hexagon Classics putting pre-89 cars in the 964 section and GT3 bodykitted cars in the 7GT3 section)
2. Repromoting of old ads (e.g. PS, SCOM, Throttle Shop promoting the same old tired ads to the top every day)
3. Ads for cars which are sold
The PH Ad team don't seem to care about the reader it's all about the paying customer.
We have to trawl through the same old overpriced indie cars month after month as they get repromoted at the top each day. PH probably believe it's good for the advertiser as they're getting hits on the same old ads, but it just puts buyers off.
Better to allow new fresh ads to come on to PH so readers go onto the classifieds to see what's actually new.

A full list of factory fitted extras doesn't stop the inevitable email / text request asking if it has got something you haven't mentioned .I am talking about cars that are say up to 5 years old...

One further frustration I had when buying my 997 was the options. Most of the 997's options are clearly visible if a good square-on photo is taken of the centre console. The buttons for heated and/or cooled seats, PSE, Sport, PASM etc can all be obscured by the gear lever/selector if a single photo of the interior is taken from outside the car!
If any 997 sellers are reading these - PLEASE photo the centre console! Also take one of the driver's door card so we can see Bose and memory seats!

- People bumping their ads to the top by just opening and re-saving them
- POA
- Sold cars having their ads kept alive by ****sold - more wanted ****, that isn't a for sale advert so I do t want to see it!
- Long adverts with 'Cat D' right at the end, grrr
