Hi all

Was looking at the gen2 997 turbo pdk but after seeing the 991gt3 my mind has wandered..

Of the lucky owners who have one can I kindly ask what deals they negotiated in terms or deposit and monthlies. I see the residuals are pretty good!!

Forgive my ignorance but have porsche stopped making it as on there configurator it is still showing with list price around 100k..

Sorry for the newbie type questions but I am an infrequent user of the forum and due to a pay rise at work, I may be in a position to increase my budget!

They start around 120k used. No new ones available - at least not at the moment.

Only ones available are used and expect a £10k premium over list price. I wouldn't think you would get much of a deal off the asking price as they are very much in demand and very limited supply

if you are going to get one I would do it now, this time of year has always been the best time to buy, from a price point.

We are not far away form the RS, once the low nos are known, its an easy call that the 991GT3 will be on the heels of 150k for a good spec with low miles. A few OPC cars have already tested this price point.

Seems to have lost a bit since the £170k you were spouting not so long back ; when I questioned this you LOL'd I recall.

Looking forward to more price corrections downwards in the months ahead.

You may now LOL again wink

Does this mean there is a good chance that the 991 will be the last NA GT3?

Thanks for the replies. If I budget at £120k is 20-25 k a reasonable deposit to put down? I can afford 1k a month on top. Any recommendations for finance or just go to porsche? I have never financed a car before and thinking about the one where you put a deposit down off the balance so say £100 k left and the remainder in monthlies. This works out the cheapest I believe in terms of paying interest...

The cheapest in terms of paying interest is to pay back as much of the capital as soon as possible. The deal you describe gives the lowest monthly payment, because not much capital is being paid off. You will be paying the interest on the whole lot though.

For borrowing £100k I'd suggest considering borrowing against your house if you're in a position to do it.

If your happy to effectively rent the car for 1k pcm then do it, however if the market turns you could end up in negative equity!!

Interesting replies. Yes I want to pay off as much capital as I can per month. Any owners care to be kind enough to let me know how they financed their GT3? Deposit and monthlies inc type of agreement?

Cash!

Have you found a car yet? £120k doesn't sound a lot if you want to buy one from a dealer, given the premium these are currently fetching, and the fact that a decent spec approaches £110k list price.

Not sure you are going to learn a lot by asking people on here for finance examples. By far your biggest challenge will be to find a car. Once you have done that, you should be able to get quotes from various sources to finance it. You will be lucky to find a car for less than £125k at the moment, so start from there in terms of affordability and if you can't make that work you are going to struggle.

Pretty sure this thread isn't going to give you too many helpful answers......

I don't think £25k down and a grand a month is enough to buy a GT3. £12k a year repayments on a loan of £110k just doesn't sound sufficient.

Magic919 talks sense. Based on a £25k deposit, the balance of £100K would probably be closer to £16-1800 a month.

They seem to be dropping!

A work colleague placed an online order on one back in July/August. He was amazed (and so was I), when he was contacted a few weeks later to confirm he'd been allocated a car. He collected it end of November. As you can imagine, he was a very happy chappy.

I'm sure there are very many better informed people here than I, but not quite sure of the long term gain in these?

Good timing. There was definitely an extra allocation of cars around July and I got the call around that time from two OPCs offering a November car, one of which I took up of course!

Who knows about long term gain, it definitely depends on what comes next after the 991RS. I have heard on a nod and a wink from a couple of OPCs that all the future development work might be focussed on turbo engines but that's not the most reliable source of info obviously. If it turns out to be the last of the normally aspirated cars then it should hold its value well. Not quite the same thing but people are definitely starting to hanker after the old BMW M cars now that the current ones are all turbo. Actually, this has been going on for a while.
